S. Matthew 4: 1 -25
O. The temptations of Jesus by the devil take place over a
40 day and 40 night period of fasting. Then the beginning of the gathering of
the Disciples as well as the spreading of the Good News and the Good Acts.
A. There are always temptations in all of our days. In every
instance, we should think of three keys, God will provide for us, don’t test
the Lord, and worship no other. Most temptations carry a high price, for us,
for others or for both. Regardless of our level or depth of faith and belief,
there will always be temptations. Even in our weakest hour, it is crucial to
remember those three keys.
As Jesus begins to gather his flock and spread the Word, you
can sense there is some plan, some guidance at work. Why else would people
leave behind family, community and work in order to follow Jesus on his journey
of healing and hope?
P. May I turn away from temptations, even in my weakest
hours. May I find the guidance to take these first steps on this path.
